Essential Strategies of Video Bloggers
Are you intrigued by those video bloggers? Blogging is a chance to not only share information with others but to also let them glimpse a bit of your personality. With video blogging the chance is even greater. Sure, you can write the way you speak and let your personality come through in your words, but videos give your content another dimension.
What is video blogging?
To put it simply, a video blog, or vlog, is simply a “web log” but with videos as the content instead of posts. There are two ways you can handle putting videos in your blog. The first is that you can have a combination blog with text, pictures, and videos. The second is that you can create a blog based solely on your videos. This is video blogging in it’s purest sense.
What do you need to get started?
You’ll need a microphone (most laptops come with these), a video editor software program, and a digital video camera. Though, the video camera is actually optional depending on the kinds of videos you want to make. Some people create videos using their video editing software and a microphone and that’s it.
Can you create videos to direct traffic to your blog?
Yes! More and more people are using sites like YoutTube to bring more visitors to their websites. If you create a great video that people want to see AND you give them an opportunity to visit your site, you’ll end up bringing the YouTube users to your site. This is a great tool because some videos end up getting thousands of views which translates to thousands of potential visitors.
Is it worth it?
Even if you decide not to make a blog that is strictly videos, you can still become one of those video bloggers by putting some videos on your site to enhance the existing content. For example, if you have a cooking blog you can post some videos on how to prepare recipes and meals. People LOVE to be shown how to do things. Videos will make your readers happy which means that they’ll keep coming back.
Does it need to be high quality?
Let’s say you do decide to start putting videos on your blog. But maybe you’re worried about producing high quality videos. Relax! They don’t need to be perfect. I just watched a very informative video where the person’s daughter wandered into the room. He let the video run while he scrambled downstairs to put on something on the television for her. The video came out just fine and yours will to, so don’t worry about it.
If you want to become ine of the many video bloggers out there, just relax and get started! Once you make your first video you’ve gotten over the hardest part.
