How Do I Start A Blog?

So, you’ve heard of blogging and you want to get started. But you may be wondering, “How do I start blogging?” Well, it all depends on what you want to do and what your goals are.

First, you have to basic choices when you first set out to blog.

• Do you want to use a free platform like Blogger.com?

Or

• Do you want to invest in a domain name, hosting, and do everything yourself?

There are pros and cons of each. A lot of beginners gravitate to the free blogs. If you’re an experienced internet marketer, too, you may want to use a free platform to test a keyword or a niche.

However, I know from experience that a free blog isn’t for everyone. I thought it was my path, but I ended up wanting more creative freedom and I found that investing in a domain name increases your credibility.

No matter which option you choose, the basic steps of starting a blog are the same.

1. Come up with a blog idea.
2. Reserve the domain name, ideally with the proper keywords.
3. Set it up.
4. Write posts.
5. Interact with readers – respond to comments.
6. If you choose to make money, figure out how to monetize it.
7. Promote your blog to get visitors.

But the main thing you should worry about at first is making the blog look attractive, researching keywords for your posts and for the URL, and writing those posts.
