Some people thing that profitable blogging is simple. All you need to do, they think, is set up your blog, write some posts, and paste adds all over it. People will magically find your blog and start clicking.
Yes, that was a neat summary as to the basic process for making money through blogging. But the idealistic approach of “if you build it, they will come” is idealistic. Um… maybe not. Yes, getting a good amount of traffic will increase your chances of making money. However, people need to somehow feel inspired to click on your affiliate link or ad and there are several factors affecting each.
Marketers refer to this as “conversion rates” and a lot of work goes into creating content, articles, and sales pages that encourage higher conversions. If you are new to blogging, you may or may not have a handle on this yet so your conversions may be low.
So Much to Remember – it will take forever to make money!
That is also not true. If you learn profitable blogging strategies the right way, you can start making money within your first two weeks as a blogger. Granted, you will likely not get rich at first. The best blogging businesses are those that are built to last. With hard work and dedication you will achieve your goals – it just may not be overnight so it’s wise not to expect it.
